Trumpeter Joshua MacCluer is an accomplished classical soloist, orchestra player, and chamber musician. He has held the position as Second Trumpet of the Saint Louis Symphony since 2003 when he was hired by Itzhak Perlman. Josh has has also held positions of Principal Trumpet of the Colorado Symphony, Acting Principal Trumpet with the Baltimore Symphony, Co-Principal Trumpet of the Sarasota Symphony and Second Trumpet of the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra. He has been on the faculty of the University of Missouri-St Louis since 2009 and was on the faculty of the Eastern Music festival for three years. In demand as a guest musician worldwide, he has performed as Guest Principal Trumpet of the San Francisco Symphony, Malaysian Philharmonic, Singapore Symphony, the National Taiwan Symphony, Omaha Symphony, Colorado Music Festival and the New Mexico Symphony. As a soloist he has performed with the Saint Louis Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, Colorado Symphony, and others, and has performed chamber music as a member of the Florida Brass Quintet, Saint Louis Symphony Brass Quintet, Detroit Chamber Winds, and many others.
