Music Education and Coaching

As a coach and educator, Josh is Director of Peak Performance Coaching at TransVolve, a integrative high performance learning startup and a faculty member at the Hong Kong Academy for the Performing Arts. Formerly a faculty member at the University of Missouri-Saint Louis and the Eastern Music Festival, Josh has many successful students active in the music business and considers music education to be a fundamental human need.

Josh is convinced that mainstream music education (as well as much other education) is failing its students and the music world. He believes that improved goals, strategies and techniques of approaching music and other forms of artistic performance will dramatically increase artistic quality and produce much greater benefit for individual music students and society at large.

Health, Yoga, Meditation, Qi Gong, Philosophy, Self-Development and Healing

Josh's integrative life philosophy seeks to leave no stone unturned in the quest for optimal health, performance, personal expression and happiness. His philosophy places high importance on the development of personal fundamentals, positive alignment of motivations, clear goals, and effective interdependence. A daily practitioner and regular coach of such practices such as yoga, meditation, Qi Gong and other mindfulness practice, Josh is committed to the cultivation harmony of thought, action and emotion in our daily lives.

Josh has also felt the call of healing and believes that his talents should be developed to alleviate suffering of others. The world needs healing on many levels and Josh believes that it is his responsibility to do his part in ways that are slowly being revealed.

Challenging the Mainstream for the Greater Good

Josh believes that mainstream thinking in music, education, health, finance, government, values and the nature of existence must be upgraded in order for humanity to survive and prosper in this world of increasing complexity and interconnectedness. The outdated values of zero-sum competition, the personality ethic and resource destruction must give way in order for us to survive. He seeks to collaborate with others in finding new paradigms for living, thinking and relationships. A primary goal of this blog is to serve as an invitation for like minded individuals to join with him as mentors, collaborators and students to work together for the future of the humanity and planet.
